About us

Our Mission

We provide the knowledge and skills needed to access digital technology more effectively. We set the foundations of a solid digital citizenship for all South Africans. We build the digital literacy knowledge of the nation from the ground up! Our courses help some of South Africa's most under-served and disadvantaged access and use the opportunities the digital age provides. The more confident and savvier they are in using digital tools and managing digital content, the more they will be able to access the social and economic opportunities the digital world offers. They will also be able to share this knowledge with others - and the greater our impact will be.

Why Digital Literacy?

At least 80% of South Africans do not know how to use, how to take advantage of, or how to manage the risks of digital technology. As a result, they are excluded from a world others just take for granted and are being denied an important human right. SHARP Digital provides free, mobile-based digital learning to help solve this complex and pervasive challenge so that more people can enjoy improved access to digital economic opportunities together we are shrinking the digital gap.
